about me

my brother and i. and, no, it's not a recent picture.

i am a young 20-something year old living in brooklyn. i recently left the drudgery of corporate m&a to switch to a non-profit focused on race & gender. i operate in a unique space because of complexity of identity and the ways in which i identify myself. asian, woman, feminist, adopted, working-class, immigrant, etc. i am deeply interested in critically exploring and living "asian-american-ness" and the ways our histories can strengthen our convictions. i'm always trying to up my side hustles and get my friends to like me more. in my free time, besides the writing, i'm trying to learn how to ride a bike. it's a beautiful struggle.

you can also interact with me on other social media networks that i'm part of. if this make sense:
  • i use my blog - notes from a post asian or what you're reading right now - to write about what i think
  • i use twitter to say what i'm doing
  • i use facebook to interact with my friends, recognizing that some people only utilize facebook though in truth i would prefer if people interacted with me via my blog, twitter or email. facebook is sorta wack.
  • finally, i use tumblr to bring together everything and to share my random thoughts, finds, and laughs that don't seem appropriate for a blog post or a tweet. if khl (the moniker i use here) comes from my korean initials, i use my other middle name on my tumblr - noel - to connotate that this is a slightly different part of me.

if you're interested in me writing for your blog or website, you can contact me here.
